Brighouse

In West Yorkshire, Brighouse is within the Calderdale Metropolitan Borough. Originating from a building (or close to) over the River Calder is the name Brighouse (or "Bridge House"). North of Brighouse, they are currently in Hove Edge next to Brighouse High School. Brighouse Town F.C. play in Evostik Division One East as of the 2018-19 season. In the 2007-08 season had one division of 10 teams, Brighouse has its Sunday League comp.

Leaving Brighouse towards Hipperholme to the north-west, the A644 crosses the road of Leeds-Halifax A58, and through Queensbury for Keighley continues to meet the A629. Funding and re-opened in May 2009, Brighouse station has been refurbished. The link by Brighouse Children's Theatre, beginning with an exchange in 1950 followed in 1960 by a twinning charter, Brighouse is twinned with L denscheid in Germany. Extensive widening work in 1905 and 1999 was undertaken (both of these dates that are latter in dedication stones being commemorated), the 1823 Turnpike Act of Halifax and Huddersfield allowed for Brighouse Bridge, over the river on what was to become the A641.

When it became part of Calderdale MB, Brighouse was abolished in 1974. In 1894 divided: Brighouse became a MB, Coley and Norwood Green became a parish in the Rural District of Halifax, and Hipperholme became an ud, but the township became a cv in 1866.
